Sugarmate | Diabetes Tracker App Recensioni

6 years ago was invaluable, now I dread using it

My daughter was diagnosed 6 years ago and Sugarmate was FANTASTIC. We used it primarily. It made communicating treatments with other caregivers easy and clear. It got incredibly glitchy and laggy shortly after it was bought out, and the most recent updates have taken away useful features. I try not to use it much anymore, except for fingerpokes; but they made it so the max blood sugar input is 400, so if you type anything above that it will revert to 400… I now have to put the actual number in the notes section. It also logs me out constantly. Just much less user friendly than it used to be. It’s really sad to see how the app has declined in the past few years.

Was so good before a large company bought it

This app was so great five years ago when my son's t1d journey began. It was a 5-star app. Tandem totally destroyed it. I'm not sure how or why, but they did. It can only be on purpose. It's total garbage, and there's zero effort to make it even resemble a working app. Tandem must have viewed it as some sort of threat to their business.

Last update trashed a great app

I’ve relied on this app for many years, until the latest update. Billed as a major improvement, it literally made a fantastic app almost useless. Dropping connections with Dexcom continuously. Lots of glitches in data logging, and the statistical reports are so very badly formatted they’re difficult to use. It’s hard to believe the developer tested this at all before release. Give us the last version back!

What happened?!

It was good up until the update. Now it's a struggle to use and annoying. Might have to find something else.

Works part time

The updates don’t seem to help. App doesn’t always update frequently and can’t rely on data.

Best App

I have now used this app for over 2 years. I have tried other apps but this is one of my 3 diabetes apps. I use the Tandem app, the Dexcom app and Sugarmate. The Tandem app and the Dexcom app both lack the ability to easily see my exact blood glucose easily. Sugarmate also allows me see how well have controlled my blood sugar for any time period I choose. Sugarmate is a keeper. I wish Dexcom and Tandem both would look at improving their apps to match what Sugarmate offers.

Glitchy

I love the Sugarmate ap…when it works. I use it at night because it stays on so I can see it easily. The problem is that that the blood sugar values often don’t update. Sometimes it says the value was from 25 minutes ago which is not helpful.

See m my blood glucose health right there my laptop

I can see all my health including blood glucose pancreas insulin levels it doesn’t show check blood ketones levels

I only have a few recommendations…😊

This app ❤️really does help me stay ❤️on top of my blood sugar. I just wish ❤️that when you went to Settings and ❤️then scroll down ways, they have an assortment of colors ❤️except for a rainbow faded one!!! ❤️LIKE WUT?! If you would please add the rainbow 🌈faded recommendation of ❤️mine, I would be very pleased and ❤️maybe rewrite my review! ❤️also I do wish you could ❤️change your profile picture to anything you want. Other than that this app is really great.❤️

None

Loved this app until no longer can get GMI to compare to Dexcom. Too buggy & making me keep signing back in w & losing data.

Many bugs

App has been horrendous since the buyout. Statistics don’t render, graphs generate gaps. Frequently have to close app and reopen to have it function.

What’s happening to sugarmate?

This app used to be so good, now the insights don’t work, I’ve been in range 95% of the time in the last 24hrs but insights say 59% Time in range for the past 7, 12 & 24 days don’t even show a % anymore

Revert back the changes

The app functionality has gone from excellent to garbage after the last upgrade. It’s totally useless now. Please revert back to old UI.

Terrible update

This app used to be our go-to for analyzing data and seeing how things were going throughout the day. The update is terrible. Data is inconsistent and inaccurate. I had to restart my alerts which wasn’t clear and we were not alerted to a scary overnight low (thankfully we have other layers of protection). 1 month ago this was a 5 star app. Now I’m looking around for another so I can dump this.

What has gone wrong

This app was great. Now you can get the same information from the dexcom app so why have two. Apps to do the same thing.

Useless

Update ruined this app. Can’t change anything on the dashboard. It only shows one day of numbers. I would pay for the old version.

Disconnected

No connection

Update ruined this app

This app used to be great. Very reliable. Now it rarely updates. The insights can’t be changed. I try to change from 7 to 30 days and it does nothing. Totally ruined a good thing. Please go back. I need to be able to feel comfortable going to sleep knowing that the app is working while my child sleeps.

Alexa

We need u on Alexa get back there now

What email for follower

Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be using this app anymore. For some reason, it’s no longer compatible with Alexa. You can no longer say, “Alexa, what’s my BG?” or “Alexa, open SugarMate,” or anything like that—it just doesn’t work anymore. I’m not sure why they removed that feature, as it’s something many people rely on. Whatever the reason behind this change, it’s really disappointing, and it makes the app not worth keeping for me anymore.

No longer works

This app used to be helpful to me by working with Amazon Alexa. It has stopped working and it is useless now. This is sad because it used to be extremely helpful to me

Very unhappy with update

I have been using this app for a few years and have loved it. With this new update, I am completely unhappy. There is so much wrong with the data feedback that I can’t even begin to list the issues. The programmers/coders need to go back to the drawing board and test better. I very seldom give negative reviews, but this app has become worthless.

Went downhill

It’s not as good as it used to be. I only have it now for the phone call alerts. The app is slow and not user friendly. Just needs to be a basic app with the important features. It’s a shame cause this was my go to app before. Now I just use the dexcom app cause it’s better. Please stop destroying what was perfectly great.

Really good, but no longer great

I’ve been a very happy Sugarmate user for years. It’s a lifesaver (sometimes literally) and, until the recent update, a pleasure to use. I can’t imagine living without it. The UI changes that came with version 3 are a real step backwards from a usability perspective. From feed scrolling bugs to the fact that I now have to enter a duration when recording an infusion set change to the maddeningly sensitive duration selection slider for said change to the two column layout of entry options, I long for the old days. 5 stars because it’s still the best, but the regression is a shame.

Terrible after latest updates

This used to be a great app where you could see everything together in a nice UI. The recent updates removed useful functionality and introduced a lot of bugs so the data feeds and metric calculations are screwed up. Now it’s pretty useless except as an overnight alarm for lows

How can it be this bad?

I’ve tried contacting them several times. They say they are working on it. It’s been over a month, how can it not be fixed by now? None of the averages are correct. The app literally changes your settings every time you open the app. It can seem to reconcile having more than one average at a time. The app is useless at this point. Such a shame it was a top tier app before this update.

Great concept but backwards ux

This app was invaluable at diagnosis. 2 years later and we still rely on it but the ux seems to be getting worse rather than better over time. The font on the nightstand/standby mode is too large for the interface and blocks half the data (it didn’t used to do that); it’s hit or miss if the app stays in standby mode; the alarm settings used to be logically intuitive and now they are buggy and you’re not quite sure if you’ve set it correctly; you can’t set the alarms to not repeat —they just do it automatically; and graph is now hard to use, it used to be the best one in the game but now I barely use it; overall everything takes up so much unnecessary space on the screen that it’s hardly useable. I thought it was my phone but the same thing happens on a full sized iPad which makes no sense. Like I said, the app used to be invaluable but the ux just keeps getting worse

Update has rendered the app useless.

Update- app font has been fixed. I have relied on this app to take care of all my son’s needs, allowing us to both log and see dosing and finger stick numbers. After the update I can’t read any of the info I need, font is out of whack. When is this going to be fixed?

Changed my life

My mom when I first got diagnosed with t1d we had nothing for diabetes then we downloaded sugar mate when I got the Dexcom and that really changed my life I went from finger pokes and shots to Dexcom and pump.

Just awful

I loved Sugarmate when I first started using it 3 years ago. Now that they did their “update” I’ll be lookjng for an alternative. The app lost all of the features that used to make it great. So much harder to track and manage.

New update

The new update is terrible. The layout is not as intuitive as the prior version. I have a problem with my tiles not updating as consistently as they did before. The graphics are not good, and it is much harder to view information in time in range. I would give the latest update 0 stars if I could.

Going backwards

To reiterate what others have said. The new version is such a step backwards. Absolutely ruined the usability and interface. If I change the time range on the gmi widget I have to kill the app and re open to get it to update. Dear developers, do you have a backup of the old version? If so may we have it back?

Terrible update

Please bring back the old Sugarmate!

Downgraded app

This used to be e my go-to app, but since the ‘upgrade’, time parameters change on me nearly every time I open app. I spend way too much time fixing it and reentering my info, almost not worth it. Used to LOVE this app!

TERRIBLE recent update

This app used to be a god send. With our toddlers recent diagnosis, it allowed us to feel more confident in management. This update has ruined the app. Shame on the developers and product managers. Notifications are completely broken, UI is clunky, and the app is entirely buggy. It’s a shame.

Stelo

This app looks to be very well made. But I don’t believe it will work Stelo which is a shame because that’s what I use.

What happened

The carb counter is all messed up it was tracking meals independently of each other now it’s adding them all together which makes it hard to dose your insulin with the pump per meal.

Great when it works

App randomly logs out, so it won’t call my phone. Not sure why, if it’s iOS update issue or app issue. Hope it’s fixed soon!

Used to love, updates very disappointing

I used to love this app. But ever since the recent update, which I have been using since it came out. The new UI seems to be changed for change sake. I don’t like it as much as I used to. It’s hard to read. I have diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma and it’s difficult to read. When you go to add something the options seem to shift around all the time. and there’s no logic to where my favorites are gonna be. It also used to be able to automatically import readings from my Accu Chek, guide meter app. And, when trying to input a device change the device selection options are cut off on the right. If you turn the phone in landscape mode, you can see some, but they’re still cut off on the right. Additionally, you have to put in a time in minutes even when changing an insulin pen. it shows the developer is tandem. Is this the same tandem company that produces the insulin pump? I miss the old version. I miss the old developers. I think I’m going to have to look for a new app or just use the default G7 and track my insulin there.

Poorly designed update

This app used to be my favorite, the update was a major UX fail. It’s become harder to use and the colors don’t have proper contrast.

Redesign has rendered this useless

This app used to be a game changer and so essential to managing my daughters diabetes. After the recent redesign, it’s been rendered completely useless. It’s buggy, ugly, clunky, and broken. Some bugs cause data displays to be completely inaccurate or ineffective, and some bugs are visually weird and make the app nonfunctional. A complete disappointment. edit: sugarmate is so fundamentally broken that we no longer reliably get high and low glucose notifications. DO NOT trust this app to reliably monitor your glucose.

What a Bummer

This used to be an excellent tool to work with my CGM, Pump, and Apple Health. Now it’s a disaster! The user interface is wholly useless. Example: Unless you have the barcode for an item you must type the complete description. Once you construct a meal, it no longer displays the carbs for the meal. The daily display only accepts one total to display, why? The export to Health frequently exports duplicates, sometimes several! This iteration is a disaster compared to the previous one. Shame on someone!!! BTW, Why are there reviews listed that are VERY old? The first one here is 6 years old.

Roll back to previous version before the update

Two weeks ago I would have given this app 5 stars. After this last update I would give it a 0 if I could. The old app worked seamlessly, this update is buggy with a poor screen layout.

Horrible update

The newest update is a nightmare! Readings do not update upon opening the app. Must close the app and open it again, wasting precious time. Entering carbs and insulin dosages is a complete mess too. Please give us back the old Sugarmate!

No longer useful

Latest update is glitching. Too many distractions with the graphs and junk taking up space on the screen, and it doesn’t update unless I refresh the app. The only things that were important are no longer available. Widget on locked screen and +/-

Update is a MAJOR DOWNGRADE

Obviously whoever decided it was a good idea to roll this latest update out is not an actual user of the app. I have loved this app for years for tracking dexcom data, insulin, etc. This new update has basically made it unusable; it is a complete mess all around. Sometimes sticking with what has been working is the only thing you need. REALLY hope they fix this or give an option to revert to the old layout cause this new one is a disaster.

Update horrible using Clarity now

I’ve been using Sugarmate for over 2 years. I’ve used it exclusively the last year and had deleted the Clarity app. Now I’m back to using Clarity because Sugarmate’s new update makes the app useless. Will likely delete app unless they can fix it.

Latest update a mess

Version 3.0.2 is not an update but a complete revision that makes the app virtually unusable compared to the previous version. I can no longer recommend.
